I get it—you live in Montreal. Getting to the gym is hard enough when the weather is warm. But when there's 4 feet of snow on the ground and it takes half an hour just to get bundled up, fat chance you're going to stick to your workout schedule. But don't fret! Here are some ways you can stay fit during the cold, cold Montreal winter—and they're cheap!
If you're appy and you know it clap your hands!
There are dozens of helpful workout apps you can download for free, and use in your home. You can look at diagrams of different exercises, keep track of calories and workouts, and watch videos with pre-set routines. Some of them have inspirational quotes for when you really need that extra push! My personal favourites are 7 Minute Workout, Yoga-pedia, and Six Week Training for something a little more intense.
DIY isn't only for crafters
You've definitely got stuff lying around your apartment that could be used for your workout. You can create a whole intensive routine with furniture, counter tops, and food and product containers. Try doing standing pushups against your kitchen counter, or fill a milk jug with water or sand and use it as a weight!
Kill two birds with one...freezing journey outside
Your normal life will bring you outside at least once a day. Take advantage of the times you're already dressed and ready to go, and sneak in some extra exercise! Layer up and walk to work or school, and take the stairs everywhere you go. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise there is!
