Are you new to Montreal? Not sure where to get your hair cut? Trusting someone you've never met with your hair can be a nerve-wracking experience. Especially if you've been growing out those locks for years. If you're like me, then your hair is a big part of your overall style, and it's important that it stays in tip top shape! I've divided Montreal's coolest salons into two categories, so you're sure to find what you're looking for.

For long/"women's" hair:

Helmet
163 Mont Royal East

Helmet is a fantastic place to go for all of your cut and colour needs. The stylists have a great sense of how to combine your dream haircut with something that will really bring out the best in your features. Pretty much all of my friends go here!

Two Horses Salon
170 Jean Talon West

So we've already talked about Two Horses being one of the best places to get tattooed in Montreal. It just so happens to be a crazy good salon, too. The co-owner Izzy can do pretty much anything you ask for, and she'll make it look even better than you imagined. She has a great team of stylists so no matter who you book with you're bound to leave happy.

For short/"men's" hair:

Notorious Barbershop
4677 Notre-Dame West

Notorious has hit multiple lists of Montreal's best barbershops, with good reason. The barbers are doing some clean, sleek hair over there.

Scotch & Scissors
3803 Rue Saint-Denis

You can tell Scotch & Scissors is cool just by walking by and peeking in the window. The decor sets up a really chill/modern vibe, and the barbers back it up. The team is super friendly, and not to mention impeccable at what they do.
