Okay, let's be real. We've all used Tinder. Maybe you had a moment of weakness after the bar one night when all your friends went home with their significant others. Maybe you just moved to Montreal and you're looking to make some connections. It's no secret that literally everyone you know is on Tinder—you've probably swiped past them!
Most peoples' first impression of Tinder is that it's a "sex app." You scroll through users in the area, swipe right on the hotties, and if all goes as planned, you meet up pretty soon after. If you've used the app, I don't need to tell you how the rest goes.
But is that first impression still accurate? It seems like more and more Montrealers are actually finding love on Tinder. Second (and third) Tinder dates are becoming more common!
So why is this? Is the stigma finally lifting from the quick-fire nature of the app? Are we proving that love at first sight really is a thing? Or maybe we're all having so much casual sex that we're bound to run into someone we actually want to keep around. Probably a little bit of all of the above!
I'll admit I met my current boyfriend on Tinder. Well I'll admit it here, but maybe not every time I'm faced with the "So, how did you meet?" question. Tinder might be becoming a more acceptable way to meet people, but I'm not ready to brag about it.
